Rehearsal and Performance for Spectral Heartbeats

In the Fall of 2020, I was grateful for the opportunity to work with Masha Bandouil on their piece "Mic Check 1. 2" and with    Samantha Geracht and Margherita Tisoto to perform excerpts from "rooms" by Anna Sokolow. Throughout the semester, the casts met on zoom weekly to learn choreography and rehearse each piece. My work in both pieces required my voice and my experience to inform and influence my movement. I wrote a reflection on my time in Dance 323 in rehearsal that semester. Below, there is a link to the show Spectral Heartbeats and my written reflection of my experience over the semester.

Rehearsal and Performance for Nevertheless, She Persisted

In the Fall of 2021, I was casted in three pieces for Mainstage 2021. This semester was particularly challenging coming back in-person. My physical and mental capacity had been diminished after a year and a half of online learning.Additionally, this show addressed many heavy topics of social just (that are important to discuss but tricky to navigate). This show required me to push my boundaries and experience new performance qualities. This was a controversial yet powerful show, and I feel stronger and porud of the work I achieved during that semester.

Rehearsal and Performance for A Dream of Home

Fall 2022

In the Fall of 2022, I was grateful for the opportunity to work with guest artist, Dominique Atwood in her piece, "As For Me And My House" and Sarah Cullen Fuller in her piece, "Atlas." Both of these pieces explored the ideas surrounding community, strength, our beliefs and values, and the uniting experience in dance. It was my final Mainstage performance, so I tried to value the little moments backstage, in the dressing room, and in performance. Check out the performance and my reflection below!

Dance Internship at The Joffrey Ballet

In the Summer and Fall of 2022, I spent my time and efforts teaching students at the Joffrey Ballet through the Community Engagement branch working to improve inclusion practices in dance culture. I was responsible for assisting in technique classes and choreographing multiple dances for different skill levels. Check out the videos and pictures and reflections below!

Dance Research Study Abroad in Rome

In the Summer 2022, I had the honor and privilege to study abroad with a small group of Loyola Dancers at the Rome Campus and work closely with Mandala Dance Company for a week! We rehearsed our own piece, "Murmuration of Starlings, Or Safety in Numbers," everyday leading up to our departure to Rome. Once we arrived in Rome, we rehearsed every day learning new movement with the Company dancers, workshopping movement ideas, and partaking in company class everyday. It was so special to travel with Amy Wilkinson and my dance peers to a new culture and perform!
