The Dance Company (TDC)

Fall 2019

In my freshman year, I did not get casted in the mainstage performance of Ecstatic Earth, so I auditioned for TDC which is a student led, student-choreographed, and student-produces group of dancers that perform shows every semester. I was casted in 4 dancesraninging in in a variety of styles from modern to jazz to hip hop. Below, there are YouTube videos of my performances of all 4 pieces.

Spring 2020

As we started the spring semester, I decided to choreograph my own piece for the spring TDC performance. As for my collegiate career, this was my first experience choreographing on a group of dancers. I had almost half the piece done before we were sent home due to the pandemic. Additionally, I was casted in 2 other pieces. Below, there is a (low quality) video from my piece's rehearsal from that semester.

Fall and Spring of 2021

As we returned to in-person rehearsals and performances, I was elected to the Eboard of TDC as the Rehearsal Director. I spent hours working with SAGA and the company to coordinate casting, auditions, space allocations, performances, costuming, and more! Additionally, I choreographed for parts of the group pieces with over 40 dancers! This experience brought me very close with the dance community outside the DFPA and with my other student leaders on the team.

Improv Sessions

Throughout my time at Loyola, I have filmed a few sessions of improv when I had spare time in a studio. These were not prompted in any way- just moving my body in ways that felt good! Below, there are multiple videos of random improv sessions.

Fleet Feet

This semester, I started working at Fleet Feet in Lincoln Square as a Retail Sales Associate. Partly what drew me to this job was the one-on-one connections with athletes. My hopes of becoming a Physical Therapist are fed by the experience I have working with athletes at Fleet Feet where I use my knowledge of kinesiology and foot pathologies to fit shoes. This job is very new, and I am still training. Below, there is a picture of my new Fleet Feet gear and the storefront.

Tik Toks (for fun!)

This part of my dancer profile is just for fun. My roommates and I spend our weekend evenings making dance tik toks. They are easy, short dances that are easily learned and performed quickly. We never made these in serious pursui, but it is so fun! Enjoy our videos!

Rolling Meadows High School Master class and Performance

Fall 2019

In my freshman year, I was casted in Shannon and Molly's piece for Rolling Meadows. Since I was not casted in the Fall MainStage performance, this was a great way to have a performance experience while learning in a masterclass setting. Below I have a picture of tech rehearsal, and a video from rehearsal.

Nia's Independent Study on Burnout

Fall 2021

Starting in the summer of 2021, I worked with Nia Montgomery to create a piece about burnout in sports. She did qualitative and quantitative research about burn-out rates in athletes and used the findings as inspiration to create the movement in this piece. I was able to create some of my own movement through improv and choreographic prompts. The dance film is very cool! Check it out below.

The Barn Project in WI

Fall 2022

After studying abroad in the Summer of 2022, Amy Wilkinson was invited to showcase our piece, "Murmurations of Starlings" at "The Barn Project" in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. It was an open air barn with a raised stage with marley. We shared the space with other professional dancers showcasing their works! We spent the weekend at Amy's cabin, and it was so special and peaceful. This was one of the highlights of my senior year.

Shirley Ryan Ability Lab

Year of 2022

In the past year, I have volunteered at Shirley Ryan Rehabilitation every Sunday for a few hours. Since Physical Therapy school is in my future, spending time in an in-patient setting with therapy is so valuable. Additionally, I worked at their Pediatric Gait camp over the summer and worked with kids. We had to get creative and often used dance to engage the students!
